About ARC
Animal Rehabilitators of the Carolinas, ARC, is a
nonprofit organization that cares for orphaned and
injured wildlife in Charlotte and the surrounding
counties. We accept animals on a regular basis, directly
or by referral from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Control,
the Emergency Veterinary Clinic, Humane Societies, The
Carolina Raptor Center, veterinary offices, and
concerned individuals. ARC is an non profit, tax-exempt
organization staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers.
We are supported totally through donations from the
public. and receive no city, county, state or federal funding.
All animals are accepted free of charge and with no
obligation to the caller.
ARC is dedicated to the care of orphaned and injured
wildlife by:
- Providing professional medical
treatment;
- Meeting the complete dietary and housing
needs of each species:
- Supervising the complicated and delicate
process of integration and
- Release of animals back into their natural
habitats.
ARC volunteers hold all required
state and/or federal rehabilitation permits.
Rehabilitators work from their homes and are required to
maintain the highest standards of animal care, overseen
by ARC's Board of Directors, and are encouraged to
participate in ongoing educational programs offered by
wildlife officials, veterinarians, IWRC
& NWRA
(national and international rehabilitation
organizations).
